The warrior memory lives on…

South Africa is a warrior nation with a proud warrior heritage. Long may the memory of our rich warrior history live on!

Alongside the memory of our warrior-leaders, we also promote ancestors who displayed “fighting spirit” not necessarily on the battlefield, as well as activities related to our warrior heritage, such as sports and commemorations.

Claudio Chiste

A former officer in South African Navy and former England chairman for South African military veterans (SA Legion). Whilst chairman, he played a  key role in the centenary ceremony of the SS MENDI which concluded with a dive on the site of the Mendi to lay a dedication.
