Celebrating
Our Warrior Heritage
Celebrating South Africa's National Warrior Heritage
The Warrior Spirit runs deep within the veins of the children of Africa.
The word warrior comes from Old North French werreier (Old French guerroieor) meaning soldier, first appearing in English in the 14th century. Its meaning is mainly historical. In most of the western world the last of the traditional warriors were almost a millennia ago (Danish & Celtic warriors). In Africa, the ‘warrior’ existed a mere century ago, with the warrior spirit still prevalent. Let us celebrate and remember our warrior heritage, keeping alive these memories and values, which are often all too forgotten in this modern age of consumerism, typified by the pursuit of comfort and convenience.
